Browne Lab outreach at Electric Picnic

Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) and CÚRAM, the SFI Research Centre for Medical Devices, recently invited members of our research group to participate in public engagement activities at Electric Picnic, one of Ireland’s largest music and arts festivals. By integrating scientific outreach into this vibrant cultural landscape, we were able to introduce our research to a diverse audience, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of science among the public.
Joanne Chang delivered an engaging 10-minute stand-up comedy set, humorously reflecting on her experiences as a PhD student and researcher. Her performance not only entertained the crowd but also highlighted the challenges and triumphs of scientific research, making complex topics more accessible and relatable to the general public.
Overall, the event at Electric Picnic was a great success, allowing us to connect with the public in a creative and meaningful way, and we look forward to participating in future outreach opportunities.
